Media Training Testimonials

As Vice-President, Legal Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer at Equifax Canada I had the privilege to work with Mark LaVigne over the past 3 years.

He is a consummate PR professional, leaving no stone unturned when it comes to representing our corporation’s best interests; integrity is his greatest strength.

Not only does he understand our business, but he understands people, that is, what makes them tick.

This keen attribute affords those who work with Mark, an opportunity to express your opinions, but at the same time get good advice tailored to your business and individual needs.

Sincerely,
John Russo

Mark media trained several of our executives while I was at Lucent Technologies. He's a great team player with in-house PR teams and is an effective trainer who adjusts his content and delivery to meet the mindsets of whomever he works with whether they be an engineer, accountant or MBA.

Mark LaVigne's media training was well-received by my clients. I will ask him to collaborate with me again when other media training opportunities arise.

We met Mark Hunter LaVigne through the Canadian Public Relations Society and were thoroughly impressed by his leadership and professionalism. When the opportunity arose to provide media training services to senior managers at one of our most important clients, a leader in Canada's foodservice industry, we turned to Mark, and were elated with the results. Mark covered all the important aspects required for a successful career in media relations and management, but also helped reinforce the important role of two-way communication and a strategic PR partner, much to the satisfaction of our account team. We look forward to more training - within this specific client and beyond.

To Whom It May Concern;

I am a physician involved in clinical practice and research as well as business partnerships and product development in the biotechnology field. Over the last several years, I have had the opportunity to participate in several media training programs conducted by Mark Lavigne of Hunter LaVigne Communications Inc. Previously I had no experience at all with media relations. I found the training services to be of great value to my business and practice. The training has allowed me to effectively participate in a number of media interviews including being featured in a Video news release developed by a major pharamaceutical company. Aside from enhancing my media relations skills, the training services have also improved my communicataion skills in general. The training services are very user friendly and suitable for virtually any type of professional. I recommend Mr.Lavigne's media training programs without reservation.

My colleague and I received Media Training from Mark LaVigne of Hunter LaVigne Communications Inc. in July, 2005 while preparing for a September public relations campaign for a new food product. We found his training to be a valuable and essential component of the campaign in anticipation of the variety of questions that would be encountered through media contact. Mark’s personable training approach enabled us to develop a comfort level in our ability to work with the media, and his guidance in on-camera practice and assistance in developing Q&A's was critical to our media communication success.

To whom it may concern:

I worked with Mark LaVigne for several years while he was on contract as Kodak Canada’s official PR counsel. Mark was responsible for training myself and other marketing managers, as well as, strategizing with us around the best way to build awareness of our portfolios with key media and influencers in the marketplace.

I found Mark to be professional and extremely knowledgeable about PR in general. Specifically, Mark helped Kodak Canada through the transition from a primarily traditional products based company to a digital products based company. It was a pleasure working with him on a number of projects, such as interviews conducted with City TV, 680 news and Globe & Mail, in addition to a variety of magazine editors.

As a marketing manager responsible for Kodak Canada’s digital business unit at the time, I highly recommend Mark as someone who can help grow your business through strong PR efforts and as someone who has the know how to train senior executives within any company, so that they are equipped to handle the challenges and demands that they face when dealing with media.

Sincerely,

Schneiders had an immediate need to bring awareness to its new Schneiders Oh Naturel! brand. Timing was tight; however Mark LaVigne of Hunter LaVigne Communications Inc. was flexible and able to turn the flawless execution around quickly. A public relations campaign was executed as part of an integrated consumer campaign including Brand Power advertising, and women’s print. This allowed Schneiders to double its share and drive category growth!

Mark LaVigne managed the entire process diligently from release writing to media kit co-ordination, media training, media follow up and final reporting; all of which were very buttoned down. When you work with Hunter LaVigne you have their undivided attention. As a result we would not hesitate to use their services again in the future.

Your media training session was very beneficial to our specialized agents. Not only were we able to media train our highly specialized agents to speak to their given market niches, it also allowed me to pull out some great newsworthy topics I might not otherwise have gotten from them. Some great future pitch material!"

Future recommendations- you might consider looking for some recent interviewer/interviewee examples ie: John Stewart or Steven Colbert.

Another idea would be to allow participants to review questions before hand so they can prepare beforehand.

Thanks again Mark,

My client was extremely pleased with the results, which reflect well on my company and its ability to outsource consulting services. As a result of the media training session, JEM Communications has been asked to make a presentation next month at the ODHA’s semi-annual Board meeting on the outcomes, specifically to develop messages on sensitive issues that were brought to light during the media training.

Thanks again, Mark, for providing first-rate media training and for sharing your expertise. It was a pleasure working with you and I look forward to engaging you as a media trainer in future.

I've worked with many consultants over the years, and I would rank Hunter LaVigne Communications Inc. as one of the most insightful and strategic teams with whom I've partnered. Mark LaVigne effectively challenged our senior leadership team during his intense media training program. He always ensured to keep the team engaged with real business examples based on his many years of media relations experience. I would recommend Mark LaVigne and his book, Making Ink and Airtime to any company looking for professional media relations counsel and training.

Tom Carroll, Media Relations Manager, Equifax Canada

Mark LaVigne’s is an excellent media training facilitator. His extensive experience and the fact he has worked both sides of the “fence” makes him a very credible presenter. The participants give him high mark for his knowledge, his delivery and his ability to relate to his audience. I have always found Mark to be professional with an easy, affable nature. It is always a pleasure to work with him, and will continue to do so.
